In 2018, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights published an article titled ‘Armin Wegner: Witness to the Armenian Genocide – A Courageous German Medic Risked His Life to Denounce Genocide’ and produced a short documentary called ‘Acts of Conscience: Armin T. Wegner and the Armenian Genocide’

The Armin T.  Wegner Society of USA was formed in 2003 by the advice of Armin T.  Wegner Gesellschaft of Germany and the blessing of Armin T.  Wegner’s daughter and son, Mrs. Sibylle Stevens and Mr. Mischa Wegner.  The main purpose of the society is to revive the legacy of Armin T.  Wegner, one of the most deserving humanists of the 20th Century.

About Armin T. Wegner

Armin T. Wegner (1886–1978) was a German writer, human rights activist, and eyewitness to the genocide against the Armenian people. He documented atrocities during World War I and later opposed Nazi persecution of Jews. His advocacy led to exile and imprisonment. Wegner’s legacy endures through his writings and humanitarian efforts for oppressed peoples.

The Armin T. Wegner Award

The Armin T. Wegner Award honors filmmakers who courageously highlight issues of human rights, genocide, and social justice. Established in 2003 by the Arpa Foundation for Film, Music, and Art, it reflects Wegner’s lifelong commitment to truth and justice. The award is presented at the Arpa International Film Festival.
