Sibylle turns 85 – Birth certificate restored

2008 marked the 85th birth anniversary of Sibylle Stevens, daughter of Armin T. Wegner and Lola Landau, born on April 8, 1923, in Berlin. The Armin T. Wegner Society of USA surprised her with a meticulously restored birth certificate, returned to its original condition.

At the time, Sibylle lived in Wroxham, England, with her husband Rex Stevens. Notably, Wegner gave her the Armenian middle name “Anusch” (meaning ‘Sweetie’) in memory of the thousands of children who perished during the Armenian Genocide, which Wegner witnessed firsthand.
