Wegner’s Tombstone at Tsitsernakaberd
Armin T. Wegner visited Armenia twice in his lifetime. His first visit took place in 1927/28. His second visit occurred in 1968, when he paid an official visit to Armenia at the invitation of Catholicos Vazgen I. Wegner paid tribute to the Armenian Genocide Monument in Tsitsernakabert. After his death in 1978, his son Mischa brought part of his ashes to Armenia in the 1990s and interred them near the monument, close to where Wegner had kneeled in front of the perpetual flame.
